Terms of Service

getburps.io ("the Service") finds burp moments in live-stream content and produces a supercut MP4 of them. It is provided as a tool for creators to pull highlights out of their own channels at scale. There are two ways to use it:

• On-demand scan: you submit the URL of a Twitch VOD and we scan it end to end.
• Burp Live: you add channels to a watchlist (up to 30) and we check them around the clock. When a watched channel goes live we record the broadcast as it airs, detect burps in it, and hold the moments so you can build a supercut of the window you were watching. Recording happens unattended, without you being present, for as long as the channel stays on your watchlist.

How a recording is treated. A broadcast is recorded so that it can be searched for burp moments, in the same way a personal recorder lets you keep something you would otherwise have to watch as it aired. We do not keep the broadcast. Once the moments have been found and cut out, the recorded stream itself is deleted, usually within seconds. What survives is the detected moments and any supercut built from them.

A supercut is a small fraction of its source. A multi-hour broadcast typically yields seconds of output. The result is a new, condensed piece of content assembled from the moments you asked for, not a copy or a substitute for the original stream, and it is not offered as a way to watch a broadcast you missed.

Recordings are per-account. You can only build a supercut from the windows you were actually watching through the Service. Recordings are not a shared library, and one account cannot build from another account's viewing.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement.

You are responsible for the activity on your account. Sign-in uses email-code or OAuth; do not share your sign-in link or session with anyone else. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

The same rule covers both a VOD you submit and a channel you add to your Burp Live watchlist. In each case you represent that you have the right to process that content, on one of two bases:

• It is yours — you own or operate the channel.
• You have permission — the creator has authorised you to process their content.

You also represent that the content is publicly viewable and not behind a subscription, paywall, or other access control.

We do not verify any of this. Nothing in the Service checks whether a channel is yours or whether you have permission to record it. Adding a channel to your watchlist is you asserting that you do, and it starts unattended recording of that channel's live broadcasts. If you process content you do not have the right to process, you are solely responsible for the consequences, including any claim brought by the creator or by the platform the content came from.

You agree not to:

• Submit URLs, or watch channels, whose content you do not have the right to process.
• Process content that is subscriber-only, age-gated, geo-restricted, or otherwise locked behind access controls you have circumvented.
• Use the watchlist to surveil, stalk, or build a record of a person against their wishes.
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm anyone.
• Scrape, mirror, automate, or otherwise abuse the Service beyond normal human use.
• Resell, sublicense, or rebrand the Service or its outputs in a way that suggests an official partnership with us.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice, and without refund of remaining credits.

The Service uses automated audio detection. It will sometimes flag non-burp sounds (laughs, coughs, gulps, mouth sounds) and will sometimes miss real burps. Detection runs at a fixed setting that we tune; there is no configuration that removes either failure mode, and no way to guarantee a given burp is caught or a given sound is excluded. By using the Service you acknowledge this and agree that supercuts are not refundable on the basis of detection quality.

• The Service operates on a credit system. Credits are purchased in packs via Stripe Checkout.
• Credits never expire as long as your account is active.
• Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
• Charges happen in two stages, with refund rules per stage:
  • Scan fee is charged when you submit a Twitch URL. It is refunded automatically if the scan itself fails before producing a burp count.
  • Build fee is charged when you confirm a supercut build. If a build attempt fails (worker error, network failure, timeout), the build fee is refunded and you may retry up to three times on the same scan.
  • If all three build attempts fail, the job is terminated and both the build fee and the original scan fee are refunded in full.
  • Successful operations are non-refundable. If you choose to decline the build after seeing the scan results, the scan fee is non-refundable; the scan delivered the burp count, which is the product you paid for.
• Burp Live has two costs, and they are separate. Monitoring and recording channels requires an active membership (see section 7) — without one you cannot add a channel to your watchlist. On top of that, building a supercut from a recorded window spends credits, charged once when you confirm the build, at the member rate while your membership is active. Recording and burp detection do not spend credits themselves; the membership covers them. If a build fails, the same retry and refund rules above apply.
• We may change pricing at any time. Changes apply only to future purchases; credits already in your account are unaffected.
• Chargebacks, disputes, or unauthorized payment reversals may result in account termination and forfeiture of remaining credits.

• Burp Live is a recurring monthly membership. It renews automatically each month, and your card is charged each renewal, until you cancel.
• A membership includes 24/7 monitoring of up to 30 channels, 12,000 credits added each period, free scanning, and 30% off every supercut build. Building a supercut still spends credits, at the member rate.
• You can cancel at any time from your account, in one click. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not end your current period. You keep membership benefits until the period you already paid for runs out, and you may resume before then at no cost.
• Credits you were granted are yours to keep. Cancelling does not claw back credits already added to your balance.
• When a membership lapses, monitoring stops and member pricing ends. Recordings already made remain available for their normal retention window.
• Membership fees are charged for the period ahead and are not refunded pro rata if you cancel mid-period.
• We may change membership pricing with notice before your next renewal. Continuing past that renewal is acceptance of the new price.

• We claim no ownership over the source content you submit or the supercut outputs we generate from it. Whatever rights you had to the source, you keep in the output.
• We retain all rights to the Service's code, brand, design, and underlying technology.
• We do not train any model on user content.

Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: source video is deleted within minutes of a job finishing and its audio within 30 days, supercut outputs within 7 days for a VOD scan or 7 days for a Burp Live capture, and only your 50 most recent jobs are retained at any time. Burp Live also records which channels you watch and when, so we know which moments you are entitled to build.

The Service is provided "as is" without uptime guarantees. We may pause, modify, or discontinue any feature at any time. We depend on third-party providers (see our subprocessors page for the full list); outages on their end can affect us.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim arising from content you submit (in particular, claims that you did not have the right to process the content at a URL you submitted) or from your violation of these terms.

You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard. Deleting your account also cancels any active membership, clears your watchlist, and stops all recording. We may terminate your account for breach of these terms or for any reason with reasonable notice. On termination, remaining credit balances are forfeited (we are not obligated to refund unused credits).

We may update these terms. Every change is reflected in the Effective date at the top of this page; we do not send an email for each revision, so check back if this matters to you. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
